"Teacher's Notes"

I thought I would delve into my scrap room today and make some Christmas gifts. This one is for Alyssa's homeroom teacher, Ms. Graves.

I took a small notepad from Target, and covered the front and back with this fun school themed paper from KI Memories. I added a KI Memories epoxy apple sticker to the corner and finished off the notepad with misc. Offray ribbons.

Next, I made a card. I stayed with the school theme, instead of Christmas, to coordinate. However inside, Alyssa and I will wish her a wonderful holiday season!

"Fall Clip"

I decorated this wooden, jumbo clip for Alyssa to take to school for her homeroom teacher. I wanted to make it 'fallish' so she would be able to get plenty of use out of it for weeks to come.

I painted it with white acrylic paint, then adhered dimensional stickers to the front. It was quick and easy to create and will be a cute addition to her desk!

I am going to tie it up in a cello bag with some candy and send it on it's way! I hope she likes it!

"It's Time for School Again!"

Well, here we go. . .another school year is upon us! Alyssa will be in the 6th grade this year. Half way through! Whew! Even though this summer has seemed pretty long, all of a sudden the first week of school is suddenly upon us and I hadn't gotten anything made for ofc. staff; principal; or, homeroom teacher for the first day. So, I thought I better get busy!

Well, this is officially the first, of many things, that will be made for the 2008-09 school year.

This is a combo of two different size 'note' pads that I covered with school-themed paper from Foof-a-la, and a RSVP pen. These were easy to cover and I just inked and sanded the edges for a worn look.

I'll tie this combo up for Alyssa to give to her homeroom teacher. (Since she doesn't know yet whether the teacher will be male or female, I'm glad the colors will work either way.)

"A Good Teacher. . ."

This is another order finished for Anndrea. She is a teacher, and she has been mentoring new teachers, so she wanted to be able to give them a little something at a breakfast on Friday in their honor.

So, what else? Yes, chocolate pouches!! I'm telling you, these are the perfect 'something' to give out! I get more orders for these, than anything!

Anyway, she wanted it to look 'teachery', of course, so I let her choose the school themed ribbon and went with solid red cardstock for the pouches. I found a great quote -- "A good teacher is like a candle -- it consumes itself to light the way for others." I printed the quote on white and matted with black, to coordinate with the ribbon, before adhering onto the pouch.

I think they turned out great! The red, white and black really pop! Anndrea picked them up this evening and she really liked them!! p.s. Her daughter, Madison, liked them also. . .so now I'm making two more for her to give to her teachers! LOL

"Hard Candy"

I've never been a big fan of hard candy, but my daughter, Alyssa, has got me hooked on this Baskin & Robbins' Mint Chocolate Chip! Have you ever had any? I've even grabbed the sugar free bag before (by mistake) and it even tastes good! They offer different flavors, but I'm stuck on this chocolate chip one!!

Anyway, Alyssa's Mulan play at school starts next week, and I wanted to fix up something for her drama teachers, so I thought they might enjoy some of this candy!

I stamped an ice cream cone in SU's chocolate chip all over my kraft cardstock, then I placed a punched out scalloped square on the front. I then punched out the center with a smaller square punch, so the cello bag of candy could show through. I folded it up around the bag and stapled it at the top. (Sorry the picture is not very clear. If you click on the photo, the image comes up much clearer to view.)

"Teachers' Easter Gifts"

These are the Easter gifts I've prepared for Alyssa's teachers. We found these resin crosses at Wal-Mart, and I let her choose which ones she wanted and for whom.

I've enclosed them in cello bags with iridescent filler and added a topper. The gorgeous Easter stamp is from The Angel Company and is borrowed from my dear friend, Linda.

I noticed this morning, that my craft 'to-do' list has gotten pretty lengthy, so I'm going to be busy, busy. I'll see you again later today!!

"Sweet Tins"

These 4 oz tins from Papertrey are the perfect size to hold three (3) of those individually wrapped Ghirardelli chocolate squares.

On Cambria Turnbow's blog, she had decorated some of these tins up with rubons on the lid, so I thought I'd give it a try. I thought these turned out just too cute! (Thanks, Cambria, for the idea!)

I used the Cupcake Series papers from Collage Press; rubons from MAMBI; Offray ribbon; and miscellaneous rhinestones. I see these being teacher gifts!

"Teacher Gifts"

This is an order I just finished for a dear friend's girls to give their teachers as Christmas gifts. I've done these designs before for school and/or teachers and the colors always work well. I hope they like them! (Oh, by the way, this 10 ton elephant sitting on my chest says "hi"! LOL)

"Birthday Gift"

Alyssa's homeroom teacher, Mrs. Tassin, is celebrating her birthday tomorrow, too. Alyssa was so excited that her & her teacher had the same birthday. So, I decorated this clipboard for Alyssa to give to her. I found this great school themed patterned paper by K & Company for the bottom and used a coordinating solid Bazzill for the top. I used misc. Offray ribbons around the middle and on the top. I hope she likes it!

"Teacher Clipboard"

A dear friend placed an order for a clipboard that her child could give as a Christmas gift to their teacher. I hope she likes how it turned out, because I do! I think the primary color combo looks great! I used patterned paper by Dude Designs at the bottom, solid yellow Bazzill for the top, and satin ABC, 123 ribbon across the middle. I also adhered a 3-D apple embellishment at the bottom. She has also ordered a matching post-it note coaster magnet, with pen, to go with this.

"Teacher Gift #2"

This is another desk organizer that I've decorated for my friend to give as a teacher's gift. I had done the previous one in 'old-school' patterned paper, however, she need the other two done in more primary school colors. I found this fun paper by Pebbles, Inc. and thought it would be perfect. I think it turned out cute and fun! Now, I've just got one more to go. I'm going to use the same patterned paper on it, but have orange as my background. I hope it turns out cute, as well. On the first organizer, I used my Xyron to adhere the paper, however, on the last two, I used double-sided tape -- it seemed to work better.

"Teacher Gift"

This is a clear, acrylic desk organizer that I got at Office Max and decorated with cardstock and patterned school paper. I am making 3 of these for a friend to give as teacher gifts. (I am planning on decorating the other 2 differently.) I got this adorable idea from my dear friend, Amanda. At our last crop together, she was decorating one for her classroom, and I thought it turned out so cute. Thanks, Amanda!

"Teacher Gifts"

(First, I hope everyone will bare with me, I am very new at this 'blog' thing and this is my 1st post)

I made these magnetic, coaster, post-it note holders as gifts for my daughter's teachers for the last day of school. I pair each one with a matching RSVP pen. They were quick and easy, but turned out very cute!
