"Watch Dog"

This layout is of our precious Pom, Ariel. Her favorite spot at my house is in front of the back screen door.

Bless her heart, she doesn't know her size, therefore, she believes she is a giant guard dog! She definitely keeps an eye on anything that moves and barks like she is going to tear the door down, all while keeping up appearances and wearing her very cute green hair bows!! :)

The layout I created is pretty simple. The background and scalloped circle cardstock are DCWV. I cut the lettering on my Cricut, using Opposite Attracts, and added miscellaneous ribbon, blossoms, and bling.

"Gal Pals"

This is another layout that I completed this past Saturday at the Mission Crop at our local Vineyard Church. I have always loved this photo of my two favorite girls, so I thought it was fitting that I do a layout for it.

Again, I used a layout design I found on 2Peas as a jump start for this design.

I used Bazzill cardstock for my background & matting and my patterned papers were all from My Mind's Eye. The blossoms were miscellaneous; embellishments by Heidi Swapp; sheer ribbon by Offray; and, brad by MM. Also, I loved the glittered green rub on letters used for the title by American Crafts. (I thought it blended well with all my colors.)

"At Twelve. . ."

I created this layout about my favorite girl's top "10", at age twelve. I used just a random 'fun' picture of her outside during her Spring Break, and increased the size to a 5x7.

The layout came together pretty easy. I used a layout I saw on 2Peas as a 'jump start' and then kinda made it my own. I used patterned paper from the Bo Bunny's Alissa line; scrap piece of Bazzill Leapfrog; miscellaneous blossoms and brads; Doodlebug alpha; K&Company sticker; Prima pink bead embellishments; and, a ZIG writer for the journaling.

"Hello, Monday!"

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Saturday, I went to the Mission Crop at the Vineyard, and, as always, had a wonderful time. I usually set up a booth and vend, but I decided to just crop this time.

Michael & Jennifer Hickerson, along with the Mission team, put together another fabulous day. They always treat us to an enjoyable day of fun, filled with games & prizes; wonderful food; fellowship and relaxation!! Great job, everyone involved!!

One of the things I put together was this adorable SU Create-A-Calendar '09. I thought it turn out too cute! It was so easy, also! Everything you need is in the kit, and I ordered it out of the SU Holiday Mini Catalog. These will be great tied up in cello to give as a quick gift this Christmas!!

Oh, on a quick note, I wanted to plug one of the vendors that I met Saturday. Her name is Tammy Lambeth and she has Lil Lamb's Boutique. I loved her selection of scrapbooking products and was so excited to learn that she was in Jackson!!

"Joy Layout"

This is 12x12 layout that I completed using wonderful papers and embellishments from the Hiliary collection by Making Memories. I mounted them on solid brown cardstock to tie it all together and loved the way it turned out!

I love the simplicity of this picture of Alyssa and I titled it "joy', because I wanted her to know that she brings joy into my life each and every day!

"Saturday's Fun"

Yesterday, Alyssa and I went to the monthly crop at the Vineyard and had a great day! I was able to visit with friends I have not gotten to see in awhile and get Alyssa's horse camp album completed. I've posted a variety of pictures from our fun day!!

I was so glad to see Pam, Kim and Casey! I've not gotten to scrap with them since we closed the store! I've really missed them! They are like family to us!! Casey is growing up! She's so pretty!! I've posted below the awesome teacher gift Kim made Saturday for Casey's teacher. You'll love it!! She did an great job on it!!

By, the way, Kim, we have all 'rubbed' our pages in honor of you!! heehee So glad I got to see you & Pam Saturday!!

Pretty maidens all in a row!! heehee We all do more talking than scrapbooking most of the time!! (Especially when we're all catching up!)

This is the awesome project that Kim and Casey worked on Saturday! It's for Casey's teacher! Didn't they do an outstanding job? We all loved it and had to take a photo of it!!

"More Layouts"

Here are a couple more layouts that are both 12x12 and were done awhile back. I love it when Alyssa looks back in her albums and points out pages that she really likes. That's one reason I'm posting these particular ones.

First one:

Before any of you say anything - Yes, our dog has little birthday parties! This layout is of her first birthday. We had a cupcake; sang happy birthday to her; and, she got a dog treat!

Of course, I had to scrapbook it for Alyssa's album. It's apart of everything else that is insane that I do for this child! heehee






Second one:

I love the simplicity of this one. It was taken a couple of Easters ago after all the kids had gotten out of their church outfits at my Dad & stepmom's house. She was barefoot in the backyard, standing up by their 'rose circle', when I took the picture. I loved it and wanted the page to just reflect the love I have for her.

She's my girl!!

"Cowgirl Layout"

I have gotten very behind on my scrapbooking, but I am hoping to get some of my 'theme' albums finished up soon. Right now, Alyssa's soccer and horse camp albums are incomplete, so those are my current mission. Here is one of the layouts from the horse camp album. I like this style album, because the pages are 11 x 81/2. (Kinda makes you think out of the box.) I'm using alot of layering of cardstock and patterned paper, along with inking on the pages in this album, to give them a 'worn' feel. I loved the title I found to use. . ."Cowgirls are Forever".

"Beautiful"

Here's another 12x12 layout I completed of my dear daughter, Alyssa. I just love this photo of her. One of the main reasons, is because I caught her with her hair out of her face!! (It's been a big deal between us lately.)

Anyhow, I used a lot of Bazzill on this layout and tried to 'junk' it up with a Heidi Swapp 'scrapper' and SU's chocolate chip ink. The papered paper was from Imaginisce and the rub-on was from Daisy D. I also used flower stickers by Creative Imaginations and khaki Offray ribbon.

"Moments"

Do you all remember this photo I posted a couple months back of my dear daughter, when she became a big sis? Well, I'm finally getting around to scrapbooking it!

I found this wonderful clock overlay by Heidi Swapp and some fab background paper by Heidi Grace on my last trip to Archiver's. I just knew it would make the perfect layout for this picture. Just simple and sweet! That's all I wanted for this and I think it turned out great!!

I, of course, love the sentiment: "Life is not measured in minutes but moments. . ."

"Family Ties"

Hi, everyone! Happy National Scrapbook Day!! Sorry I posted this layout crooked, but I'm in a hurry today!! Alyssa's in her play at school, so we are busy with that, but I couldn't let this day go by without scrapbooking something!

I had, actually, started on this layout back at the Mission Crop, however, I just finished it up today. I used solid white Bazzill for my background, and cut in half a circle, patterned paper by Making Memories, before adhering it on top of the white. I tied the two halves together with white grosgrain Offray ribbon, to coordinate with the title of 'family ties'. The chipboard letters were Heidi Swapp and I painted them with Making Memories paint before adding a clear glitter coat on top. I also added a few random stickers to complete the page.

I was really glad to scrap these photos, because they were recently taken on my dad's birthday with me & my sister and with our kids.

"School Layout"

I was so glad when Alyssa's school pictures came in. I thought they turned out great, and I wanted to go ahead and work on the scrapbook layout!

The solid background is Bazzill and the pattern papers are Bo Bunny. I was able to cut my lettering just the size I wanted with my Cricut. The large yellow flower is Heidi Swapp and the white 'lace-like' ribbon across the bottom is by K&Company. I found it at Archiver's and love it! It is, actually, paper ribbon and is self-adhesive!

"Some Kind of Wonderful"

I ran across this 12x12 layout this morning, and I just had to stop and take a minute to reflect. Do you ever come across photos of your child(ren), even if it's not that old of a picture, and take a minute to reflect? Well, I'm one of those kind of people that can pretty much remember everything about a picture of Alyssa, like when it was made and/or what was going on at the time. (I think it's a little bit of my OCD showing!) heehee

Anyway, this is another one of my layouts that is several years old, but ever time I see it, I always remember doing it and how please I was with how it turned out. Like many others, this is one of my favorite photos of Alyssa! She is definitely some kind of wonderful to me!!

"Easter Layout"

I was asked several years ago to teach a class on paper-piecing, and since it was close to Easter, I had everyone make this bunny. This is a 12x12 layout I did to incorporate the paper-pieced bunny. Using this layout, I wanted to, not only show his completed size, but how easy it was to incorporate him onto a layout.

My layout, here, ended up being rather simple, but I loved this photo of Alyssa and her Dad before church on Easter morning, so I made that be my focal point of the page.

Even though this simple layout was from several years ago, it is still one of my favorites!

"Mini Autograph Book #2"

Here is autograph book #2 for Miss Lily for her Disney trip in a couple of weeks. Since we want her to get tons of autographs, we thought she needed more than just one autograph book! heehee

This is another Paper Reflection mini spiral memory album. I covered the front with pink cardstock; left-over purple patterned paper from my Disney trip; and, a gorgeous sticker of all the Princesses. I then tied coordinating misc. Offray ribbons on the spirals.

Now Lily is set to go have a blast and make awesome memories!!!

"Mini Autograph Book"

My dear friend, Pam, and her daughter are going to Disney in April, so I decorated the cover of this 4x5 book for autographs Lily is going to love getting all the characters autographs, so I wanted to fix her up something special to take with her. That way, when they get back, Pam can scrapbook the pictures with the signatures! I hope Lily likes it!

I know that when Alyssa and I were in Disney, getting all those autographs were awesome!! I fixed an album just for all the signatures and it is one of my....oops, I mean, Alyssa's treasured albums.

This little album is a spiral 4x5 memory book by Paper Reflections. I used solid yellow, red and white cardstock; plus, some leftover patterned paper from my trip. The mickey head is epoxy from Creative Imaginations and all the ribbon is misc. Offray.

I know they will enjoy their trip. Disney is one of my favorite vacations.....I'll never forget the memories we made!

"One Page"

I know this image is pitiful (it's the best I could get it scanned), but this is the only page I got done at Saturday's crop! LOL (If you click on the image, it does help alittle) It was a 12 hour crop, and I did get there late, and planned on getting lots of scrapbooking done, but this was it!!

However, I had a blast!! The reason I was not productive in my scrapbooking efforts was because I talked the whole time! LOL You would think that someone could visit with others and be able to scrapbook....but not I. heehee But, I will say again, I enjoyed myself!!!

"Essentials"

I have been asked what single product I have that I cannot live without. Well, sorry to say, I can't name just one. In racking my brain to think if there was one thing, I just couldn't do it.


Of course, there are many things I rely on daily when creating my projects, but I finally came up with a basic list of five things that I use with almost every project.

1. Fiskars 12" cutter

2. 1/4" Wacky Tape

3. Black ZIG Writer

4. Cutterbee scissors

5. Scotch double-sided tape

Don't get me wrong, I love my punches, Xyron, inks, stamps, ribbons, cutting machines, etc. But the above list is what I have to have to function! LOL

New Archiver's Store

Oh my gosh! The new Archiver's store opened yesterday in Memphis and it is fabulous! Me, my sister, my mom, and dear friend, Jennifer, made the trip for the grand opening. It opened at 9:30 am, and if you were one of the first 100 customers in the door, you received a free gift. Also, they had a free make and take and you received an Archiver's tote if you spent $50.00 or more. Well, let's just say, we accomplished all of the above! LOL It was amazing! I think we spent about 3 1/2 hours in there. Basically, if you want it, it's there! LOL We all agreed that there would be many trips made to this store!! We had a blast!!

"Cover Page"

I rarely scrapbook anymore, since I've been doing more paper craft items lately. I go to a crop once a month and scrapbook then, but I hardly ever scrapbook at home. (Never thought I'd say that!?!?!) On Labor Day, however, my sister, Kim, and I, wanted to scrapbook. So, we spent the better part of the afternoon at her house trying to get something accomplished with our piles of pictures. I decided I was going to work on Alyssa's horse camp pictures, so here's my cover page. Even though it looks quiet simple, I spent more time on it than the other couple of pages I got done. (I didn't notice that my ribbon wasn't straight until I scanned it...I'll have to fix that.) Anyway, we will get together to crop next weekend, so I guess finishing up the horse camp pictures will be my 'project'.
